The limited edition cigar pays homage to Joel Sherman, who joined his father – Nat Sherman, full-time in the business at the tender age of 21 years. Now, an industry icon, Mr. Sherman’s leadership, spirit and passion for cigars, has empowered the Nat Sherman brand to be one of the most recognized and sought-after brands in the premium tobacco industry.
Rightfully hailed as ‘Tobacconist to the World,’ Nat Sherman’s reputation for quality and service is unmatched. The Joel Sherman 75th Celebration cigar will make its official debut at the 2014 International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers Convention in Las Vegas later this month. The cigars will be available to consumers beginning August 2014.
“These cigars are the epitome of a lifelong desire to create a unique smoking pleasure for my friends and customers,” said Joel Sherman, President & CEO of Nat Sherman. “I have always been asked ‘how do you smoke a cigar?’ and my answer is always the same ‘however you like’.”
From the custom blend to the elegant package design, every element of the cigar has been hand-crafted, enabling Mr. Sherman to share a piece of himself with admirers, supporters and aficionados worldwide. The crest in showcase on the black lacquered cigar box was inspired by Mr. Sherman’s days as a young drummer, paying homage to the logo once displayed on the front of his bass drum. In addition, each box of cigars will contain a personal note from Mr. Sherman which shares his love for cigars and the ongoing joy he has received working alongside his family for generations. A third generation of Shermans, William, Larry and Michele, continue to lead the namesake brand today.
“Throughout his long and illustrious career, our father has been recognized by his industry peers as a statesman, troubadour, friend and leader,” said William Sherman, Executive Vice President, Nat Sherman.
“His passion has always been deeply rooted in his devotion to family and the fundamental belief to do what is right. We can think of no better way to celebrate his 75 years, than with a truly elegant reiteration of the product he loves – cigars.” With only 2,500 boxes in production, these limited edition cigars feature a unique 7.5” x 46 vitola with aged filler tobaccos and a binder from the Dominican Republic. The cigar is finished with a stunning hand selected Ecuador wrapper leaf. Sold in 10-pack custom boxes, the Joel Sherman 75th Celebration cigars are priced at $190 per box, before applicable taxes.
