France is about to welcome two international fashion festivals, both of which speak to fashion as an art form.
One is Le Festival de Mode de Dinard, a Brittany-based young designers’ festival with a lively, vaudeville-like atmosphere.
The second is in Hyères, in the South of France. That city’s Festival International de Mode et de Photographie showcases inaugural collections by young global designers. It also displays exhibitions that address the intersection of fashion, art and photography.
Both festivals promote the artisitc and creative elements that encapsulate the very essence of fashion. I recently appeared on FRANCE 24, a cultural television program in Paris, to explore this issue.
Here is that discussion.
