Unique Packages at The Plaza for Wine & Food Festival

In celebration of the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE, New York’s iconic Plaza Hotel is offering four one-of-a-kind hotel package experiences.

This includes tickets to the inaugural Global Night Market event at The Plaza Food Hall, hosted by Todd English on Saturday, October 19 – a must for all food and wine enthusiasts.

One of the festival’s most anticipated events, the Global Night Market at The Plaza Food Hall will showcase some of the most unique and jaw-dropping dishes from The Plaza Food Hall including Billy’s Bakery, Lady M, No. 7 Sub, Tartinery, The Todd English Food Hall and YoArt.

In addition, Hot Bread Kitchen will showcase multi-ethnic breads baked by participants in its baking training program for immigrant women as well as treats from food start-ups.

The four unique packages will provide guests with a two-night stay at The Plaza, two tickets to the Global Night Market at The Plaza Food Hall, an intimate reception with Chef Todd English, access to a second Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival event and an exclusive VIP experience at The Plaza.

Note: All guests must be 21 years of age and over to attend any Festival event.

Wine Lovers: Taste, then Spa Package:

Extra Perks: In addition to the standard offering The Plaza has packaged (as listed above), ‘Wine Lovers: Taste, then Spa’ includes two tickets to the festival’s Top Taster for Top Fliers – Embark on the Ultimate Wine Flight with Delta and Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson: 6 Blind Wines in 25 Minutes! on Friday, October 18 (5:30pm – 7:00pm) at Hudson Hotel.

You and 10 top NYC sommeliers will take a world-class wine tour guided by Delta master sommelier Andrea Robinson. Learn how to blind taste, enjoy six world-class wines and see what it’s like for a pro preparing to perform their personal best on the master sommelier test.

Keeping the weekend themed around wine, guests will enjoy the Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa at The Plaza with a 50 minute Couple Wine Maker’s Massage and ½ hour private sommelier service of wine and cheese.

Feel the Burn After Burger and Food Bash:

Extra Perks: In addition to the standard offering The Plaza has packaged (as listed above), “Feel the Burn After Burger and Food Bash” includes advance tickets for two to the Festival’s signature event, the Blue Moon Burger Bash presented by Pat LaFrieda Meats hosted by Rachael Ray on Friday, October 18 (7pm – 10pm) at Pier 92. This walk-around dining experience brings together some of the country’s top chefs competing against one another for the title of Blue Moon People’s Choice Award Winner.

Top off this indulgent package with a 60-minute circuit training session at La Palestra, founded by fitness guru and author of the best-selling book ‘The Anatomy of Strength Training’, Pat Manocchia. Circuit training consists of a warm-up and series of five full body exercises that will benefit the muscular and cardiovascular system.

Iconic New York City Date Night:

Extra Perks: In addition to the standard offering The Plaza has packaged (as listed above), “Iconic New York City Date Night” includes two tickets to the festival’s Date Night Memories: Tempting Tastes and Passionate Pairings from Union Square Café hosted by Carmen Quagliata and Andrea Robinson, part of the Celebrity Cruises® Pairing Seminars hosted by FOOD & WINE on Saturday, October 19 (1:30pm – 2:30pm) at Hudson Hotel.

Each dish will be paired with wines picked by master sommelier Andrea Robinson for an experience sure to invoke memories of date nights loved and lost.

As part of this romantic package, the couple will have the opportunity to relax in the privacy of their guest room with in-room bubbly for two. A bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries will be brought to the room along with two delicate flutes etched with The Plaza’s signature double “P” emblem to serve as a keepsake.

Learn from the Best, Taste the Best:

Extra Perks: In addition to the standard offering The Plaza has packaged (as listed above), learn the art of fresh pasta making from the famed Bitici family of Macelleria, one of the original Meatpacking District restaurants. With two tickets to the festival’s Pasta Making 101 on Sunday, October 20 (12pm – 1:30pm) at Macelleria, guests will be schooled in this tasty, Italian tradition during a hands-on course. Create fresh pasta from scratch and enjoy a sampling of Macelleria’s daily homemade pastas accompanied by a tasting of perfectly-paired wine.

Take home another cooking skill with the ‘Create Your Own Flatbread’ experience at the Todd English Food Hall at The Plaza on Saturday, October 19 (timing to be accommodated based on availability). With private access to the entire Pizza Station, learn how to make the restaurant’s signature flatbreads while a chef leads you thru a hands-on demo. After the hard work is done participants will be able to eat the fruits of their labor.
