Palace Hotel Tokyo Launches Five Senses Stay

By Lauren Jade Hill

It’s been five years since Palace Hotel Tokyo made its debut on the tree-lined avenue Marunouchi Naka Dori in Tokyo. Since then, the luxury hotel has won over the luxury travel world, becoming the only independent Japanese hotel to have ever been awarded the coveted Forbes Travel Guide five-star rating. Now, in celebration of its success, the hotel is marking its five-year anniversary with an exclusive five senses stay, Celebrating Tokyo.

The sensory five-night package has been designed around sight, touch, scent, taste and sound, incorporating five cultural experiences that are unique to Tokyo, fulfilling their guests’ desires to experience authentic Japan during their time at the hotel.

Sight is represented first through the views over the Imperial Palace Gardens that the hotel’s suites command, and secondly through the inclusion of tickets to the Edo-Tokyo Museum or recently opened Sumida Hokusai Museum, which exhibits the iconic works of Katsushika Hokusai. Touch is then represented through Vitalizing Signature treatments and Japanese acupressure at evian SPA TOKYO, plus a 90-minute sushi-making class at Tokyo Sushi Academy in Tsukiji Fish Market.

Scent is brought into the five-night stay with the gift of an aroma reed diffuser in the hotel’s signature scent Pure Tranquility, and a half-day privately guided city tour that’s tailored to the guest’s interests to breathe in the atmosphere of Tokyo’s vibrant neighborhoods. Taste is naturally integrated through the hotel’s gastronomy, but it’s also introduced with a half-day private food tour led by Tokyo Tomo.

The fifth sense, sound, comes in the form of live jazz one evening at The Palace Lounge, with handmade chocolate and champagne, plus a 60-minute Japanese taiko drumming lesson at Taiko-Center Tokyo.

Elevating the experience further, the hotel is providing guests on this five-night stay with VIP access to the Club Lounge. The Celebrating Tokyo package will be available from the beginning of June until the 18th December 2017. Rates start at $6,900.
