Etihad Airways recently the doors of its new flagship First Class Lounge & Spa at Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Terminal 3. Boasting expansive views of the airport, the luxurious 1700 metre-square dedicated first class lounge offers an ultra-exclusive lifestyle environment, including an ultra-luxe cigar lounge for cigar lovers to indulge their hobby in comfort.
The cigar lounge offers a serene place for cigar aficionados, presenting its guests with a selection of the world’s best cigars, expertly matched with a variety of cognacs, whiskeys and rums.
Mirroring the Etihad Airways’ evolution into the best airline in the world, the cigar lounge provides guests with a truly unique opportunity to smoke a Bolivar Emirati.
With only 2,000 boxes available worldwide, this cigar has been designed specifically for the UAE market and has largely been sold to private buyers.
In addition to this unique and exclusive offering, the cigar lounge provides a choice of nine carefully selected brands including Hoyo de Monterray, Cohiba, Bolivar, Montecristo, Arturo Fuente and Romeo Y Julieta from its own humidor.
The airline’s First Class lounge draws inspiration from the world’s most prestigious hotels, private members’ clubs and fine dining establishments. The rest of the First Class lounge features another 15 unique zones which include a secluded relaxation room, an à la carte restaurant, a bar, Six Senses Spa, Style & Shave barbers, nail bar, cigar lounge, fitness room, TV room and a children’s play room.
The relaxation area invites guests to ease back in one of six Poltona Frau leather recliners which face a large video wall made up of 27 individual screens and experience soothing sound and lighting, while a dedicated Savoy-trained Butler is on hand.
Stocked with 75 premium spirits, champagne and aperitifs and offering a bespoke cocktail drinks menu, the sculptural showcase bar features a signature style for Etihad’s new collection of global lounges including the recently opened New York and Melbourne lounges. The Abu Dhabi signature mocktail drink uses Middle-Eastern flavours such as aromatic cold brew coffee infused with cardamom and sprayed with delicate rose water.

Lounge access is restricted to guests of The Residence, Etihad First Class, Etihad Guest Exclusive, Etihad Guest Platinum members (plus one guest), Etihad Airways Partner (EAP) airline First Class guests, EAP ‘Invitation only’ members (plus two guests) and EAP equivalent Platinum members (plus one guest).
Guests of the First Class Lounge & Spa will be attended to by a number of expertly trained staff, including the General Manager, Concierge, Maître d’Hotel, Savoy-trained Butlers, chefs and mixologists.
