Upon arrival, pets can check into their suite equipped with appealing amenities including fresh food, water bowls, a wide variety of pet treats, plush towels, royal dog bedding and a cat deluxe litter. Pets weighing up to 30 pounds are welcome and allowed access to the Eden Roc Hotel and Caletón Beach Club, excluding indoor restaurants and the Spa. The “Very Important Pet” program costs $50 USD daily. Additional services such as emergency pet food and dog sitting and walking are also available for a fee of at $8 USD for 30 minutes per dog and $12 USD for two dogs.
Taking a pet to the Caribbean can be a hassle, depending on the island. But not so on the DR. Pet immigration rules for the Dominican Republic require dogs and cats to have a rabies vaccination certification and a health certificate from your country of origin that is valid for at least 30 days.
